of Benefits
Coordination
of Benefits (COB) and non-duplication clauses
in client's plans are administered in the following
manner. COB is managed through the Island Group
data processing system. By an examination of the
standard enrollment forms which contain pertinent
information, and other information required on
most standardized claim forms. The necessary information
concerning primary coverage for the claimant and
dependents, other coverage extended via other
carriers or benefits systems is encoded into our
computer system and tracked and managed via the
system. By utilizing reciprocal and overlapping
data, Island Group makes certain that the only
charges that will be incurred are the ones that
are the responsibility of the client's plan.
